MORE THAN 1,100 HINO 500 SERIES TRUCKS RECALLED

MORE THAN 1,100 HINO 500 SERIES TRUCKS RECALLED

Selected Hino 500 Series vehicles are being recalled with automatic clutch unit (ACU) issues.
The ACU has two motors that operate the clutch. An ACU motor may not operate correctly if wear occurs on the internal brush.
If one motor fails, the other can compensate for this and continue to operate the clutch system.
However, "in this situation, the ACU may not function correctly due to the ACU control software being unable to account for changes to the ACU motor’s operating characteristics", the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) says.
"If the ACU is unable to operate, a warning light in the vehicle may appear, and the vehicle may not operate.
"This may lead to an accident risk for the occupant and other road users."

Owners of affected vehicles should contact their local Hino dealership to get their vehicle's AMT electronic control unit reprogrammed.
The two ACU motors will also be replaced free of charge.
The recall affects 1,175 vehicles sold between November 30, 2011 and September 30, 2017.

2020 JEEP GLADIATOR FIRST LOOK: THIS IS NO SCRAMBLER How do you make MotorTrend's 2019 SUV of the Year-winning  Jeep Wrangler  even better? Give it a matching pickup. Into the forum enters the Gladiator. They may look like bookends but  Jeep  executives are clear: this is no Scrambler. Past Scramblers were Wranglers with a small bed whereas the original Gladiator in 1963 was a true pickup, and that is the model for the 2020 truck.   VIEW 142 PHOTOS Jeep loyalists have clamored for a resurrection of the pickup since the '86-'92 Comanche. The product team's mission was to develop a competitive midsize pickup with the look and capability of a Wrangler. It took longer to bring a crew cab to fruition, but the end result was deserving of the Gladiator name, said Tim Kuniskis, head of the Jeep brand in North America. The Scrambler is not coming back. Scoop: Honda Breeze (Honda CR-V twin) exterior leaked The Chinese market is one of the core markets for the automakers considering 25% of the world's new cars are sold in China. In order to make the best out of it, companies often sell the same cars with two different names and styling in order to grow the volumes and maximize profits. In the latest, Honda has created a twin model of the CR-V, called 'Breeze'. Honda has been selling  a number of twin models in China  under two joint ventures, namely GAC-Honda and Dongfeng-Honda. While the original Honda CR-V is sold by Dongfeng Honda, the Honda Breeze will be sold by Guangzhou Honda. The Honda Breeze has more stylish front and rear fascias, but its interior is likely to be almost identical. At the front, it incorporates the latest iteration of the brand's design language, apparently with inspiration from the tenth-gen Honda Accord. With a large chrome bar on the front grille that mates with the “jewel eye” hi...
