India-bound MG E ZS showcased at the Guangzhou Auto Show SAIC has unveiled the India-bound  MG E ZS  at the 2018 Guangzhou Auto Show in China. Here are its images and specifications, courtesy Sohu. In India, MG Motor plans to launch an EV as its second model. Reports say that the EV the company is planning for our market is the MG E ZS, which it will import in CKD kits to keep the pricing a bit realistic. The MG E ZS employs a 110 kW (150 PS) electric motor, and its driving range certified by NEDC is 335 km. The MG E ZS, as its name suggests, is the pure electric variant of the MG ZS sub-compact SUV. The battery-powered variant flaunts a uniquely designed bumper, an inverted lower grille and distinctive 17-inch alloy wheels to differentiate from the ICE-powered variant. Moreover, it is painted in an exclusive sky blue colour. Then there’s a green ‘E’ before the ‘ZS’ badge on the tailgate. The upcoming BSA Motorcycles could rival niche brands like Royal Enfield, Harley Davidson and Triumph. Honda Vezel/Honda HR-V-based Honda VE-1 EV unveiled in China GAC Honda has unveiled Honda VE-1 SUV at the 2018 Guangzhou Auto Show, essentially a pure electric Honda Vezel/Honda HR-V with a modified design. The Honda VE-1 is the production version of the Honda Everus EV Concept from Auto China 2018, and it is intended for sale in only China. The Honda VE-1 is the production version of the Honda Everus EV Concept that debuted at Auto China 2018 in April. The zero-emission SUV is 4,308 mm long, 1,824 mm wide and 1,625 mm tall, with a 2,610 mm wheelbase. It sports 17-inch wheels shod with 215/55 R17 tyres. The Honda VE-1 uses an electric motor that generates a maximum power of 120 kW (163.15 PS) at 400-11,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 280 Nm from 0-400 rpm. The electric motor, manufactured by JEE Automation Equipment, sources energy from a 53.6 kWh Lithium-ion battery pack that provides a driving range of 340 km (NEDC mode). 25 million Honda scooters sold in India till date Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt Ltd has announced that it has crossed a sales milestone of 25 million scooters in the country. The current-generation Honda Activa 5G debuted at the 2018 Auto Expo. The  Honda Activa  was launched in India in 2001. It took 13 years for the company to reach the first 10 million sales of its scooters in the country. The second 10-million milestone was achieved in just 3 years, the lion's share belonging to the Activa. That said, the two-wheeler market and Honda's production capacity changed in such a way that the next 5 million Honda scooters were sold within 1 year. Honda 2Wheelers India  is the only scooter manufacturer in the country to cross a sales milestone of over 25 million units. The Activa attributes to over 32 percent market share in 2018. Siddhartha Lal hopes to sell a million Royal Enfield 650 Twins a year - Report According to a report from DNA India, Siddhartha Lal expects the  Royal Enfield 650 Twins  to reach annual sales of up to 1 million unit globally in 5 to 10 years. Jawa dealership locations in India revealed - Report Classic Legends, a subsidiary of Mahindra & Mahindra, has appointed 105 dealerships for the sale of Jawa motorcycles in India. Of the 105 dealerships, 64 stores would commence operations very soon. In fact, at the unveiling and launch of the Jawa motorcycles in the Indian market, officials confirmed that the first dealerships would be open for business on December 5, 2018. Groupe PSA and AVTEC inaugurate powertrain plant in India Groupe PSA and AVTEC (a CK Birla Group company) started the industrial set up of their first powertrain JV plant in India in Hosur, Tamil Nadu today. This plant will manufacture and supply transmissions and engines for domestic and export markets. The new plant will have an initial manufacturing capacity of about 3,00,000 units/year for the transmissions and 2,00,000 units/year for the engines. The media is abuzz with Kia and MG’s India entry, but there’s another brand that will set foot in our market later this decade, a brand from Groupe PSA. The French auto conglomerate will re-enter our market with either Peugeot, a brand that was existent during the 1990s, or Citroen. In markets where the brands co-exist, the former is positioned as the premium one while the latter stands for affordable vehicles.
