BANDAG HIGHWAY GUARDIAN: VETERAN TRUCKIE THREE TIMES A HERO

BANDAG HIGHWAY GUARDIAN: VETERAN TRUCKIE THREE TIMES A HERO

BANDAG Highway Guardian: Veteran truckie three times a hero

My name is Leonie and I am Lew’s wife. We are truly honoured in receiving this award.
In the past 45 years Lew as a driver has assisted a lot of people and saved many lives.
Two I can recall is when he dived into a river and rescued a woman and one of her children from car that had gone off a bridge. He resuscitated them both and saved their lives. He was honoured with a bravery award by the QLD police but never collected it.
Another time a motorbike rider was thrown from his bike after hitting a truck. Lew immediately went to his rescue. He had lost part of his leg and had to use a rope as tourniquet to prevent him bleeding to death.
The ambulance drivers thanked him for his efforts and said he saved his life. He seems to just know what to do and does it!
So it's so special that he has finally been recognised for his ability to help anyone in need especially when it comes to saving lives and also considering his company's vehicles. He has worked in transport for 45 years and has only has three days off due to the flu. He is a proud driver and respects his company and their trucks. I am disabled and Lew is my career during the day if I need him. Nothing is ever a problem for him.
I believe he is truly deserving of this award and thank you for acknowledging it.
Kind regards
Leonie
He is not aware I have sent this as he is quite modest.

Into the forum enters the Gladiator. They may look like bookends but  Jeep  executives are clear: this is no Scrambler. Past Scramblers were Wranglers with a small bed whereas the original Gladiator in 1963 was a true pickup, and that is the model for the 2020 truck.   VIEW 142 PHOTOS Jeep loyalists have clamored for a resurrection of the pickup since the '86-'92 Comanche. The product team's mission was to develop a competitive midsize pickup with the look and capability of a Wrangler. It took longer to bring a crew cab to fruition, but the end result was deserving of the Gladiator name, said Tim Kuniskis, head of the Jeep brand in North America. The Scrambler is not coming back. Built in the same Toledo complex as the Wrangler, the Gladiator's unique frame is 31 inches longer than ...

Classic Corvettes Abound at the 2019 Woodward Dream Cruise

Classic Corvettes Abound at the 2019 Woodward Dream Cruise It's the year of Corvette.  With the unveiling of the long-awaited mid-enigne 2020 Stingray , 'Vette fever is peaking. So it's no surprise that the 2019 Woodward Dream Cruise is packed with the first seven generations of the sports car. Every day last week leading up to the actual cruise on Saturday, the lanes of Woodward have been an homage to classic Corvettes; with the debut of the Corvette C8, everything with an engine in front of the driver will soon be considered legacy. Since the mid-engine car does not go on sale until early next year, anyone hoping to see production models on the road cruising was disappointed. But the  Chevy  area along Woodward had a preproduction model on display on Saturday. Lines formed early for a look, and they never let up. The eighth-generation car has the updated pushrod 6.2-liter small-block V-8 engine known as LT2, which makes 490 horsepower and 465 lb-...
