Infiniti QX55 to Join Lineup as Coupe-Like Crossover

Infiniti QX55 to Join Lineup as Coupe-Like Crossover Ahead of the 2019 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance,  Infiniti  announced a new addition to its SUV lineup, the QX55. Based on the teaser sketch that Infiniti released, the QX55 appears to be a coupe-like variant of the  recently released QX50 , which means it's got the  BMW X4  and  Mercedes-Benz  GLC Coupe in its sights. "The Infiniti QX55 is a stunning new SUV coupe in the heart of one of the industry's fastest growing segments, globally," said Mike Colleran, deputy chairman of Infiniti, in a statement. The last time Infiniti had a coupe-like crossover was the 2017 model year, the  final year of the QX70 , formerly the Infiniti FX. When it first arrived back in the 2003 model year, the Infiniti FX was a rear-drive-based five-seat luxury crossover underpinned by the FM platform used in vehicles like the  Nissan 370Z ,  Infiniti Q50 , and Q60. The first generation Infiniti FX was available w

Twelfth-gen Toyota Corolla still under consideration for India - Report

Twelfth-gen Toyota Corolla still under consideration for India - Report The twelfth-gen Toyota Corolla Altis was  said to be ruled-out for India in a previous report . However, a new report says that TKM hasn't still given up on it despite the diminishing demand for C-segment sedans in the country. C-segment sedans are facing a lot of heat from C-SUVs in India. While C-segment sedans sell barely a couple hundred units every month, C-SUVs clock sales in four-digit figures easily now. That's the reason why none of the C-segment sedans, including the eleventh-gen Toyota Corolla Altis, is locally manufactured. The volumes just don't make sense for production here, and importing, even as CKD, is driving up prices way too high now. Based on the GA-C platform of the TNGA family, the twelfth-gen Toyota Corolla Altis is a lot more sophisticated product than its predecessor. The latest development comes straight from N Raja, Deputy Managing Director, Toyota Kirloskar Motor.

New Royal Enfield motorcycle variants confirmed, to be launched soon Royal Enfield is all set to introduce new motorcycle variants soon. The Chennai-based brand has been experiencing weakened sales volumes for the past few months. Hopefully, new products will help the brand regain some volumes. Royal Enfield’s new CEO, Mr. Vinod Dasari has confirmed that the new products will widen the brand’s offering and provide greater accessibility. This gives clear hints of a more affordable version of the Royal Enfield Bullet. The company may also throw in more colour options, a trick which helped in getting favourable results in case of the Royal Enfield Thunderbird X. This will allow the brand to take on the single-cylinder competition from the Japanese as well as the Indian contingent. Indian two-wheeler market entered a slowdown just before the festive season last year due to a spike in insurance costs. Royal Enfield sales (domestic as well as exports) dropped by a whopping 19% in

2020 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 2500HD FIRST TEST: BIG TRUCK IN THE LITTLE CITY

2020 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 2500HD FIRST TEST: BIG TRUCK IN THE LITTLE CITY Standing there in the  MotorTrend  garage, I felt like a matador in the ring, sizing up a fighting bull. Its gargantuan proportions and menacing visage struck me with intimidation. Yet like a trained fighter, I knew that with cunning and calculation I could overcome this brute. Returning its glare, I marched forward, stomped my foot on the running board, and climbed into the  Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD . For 2020 the  heavy-duty Silverado's capability increased —as did its size. Atop its 158.9-inch wheelbase is a body measuring 250.0 inches long, 81.9 inches wide, and 79.8 inches tall. It makes the  Silverado 1500 LT Trail Boss Z71 —231.7 inches long, 81.2 inches wide, and 78.4 inches tall on a 147.5-inch wheelbase—seem compact by comparison. Trailer hitch backed within an inch of the garage wall, its grille still jutted out into the aisle. Folding the power-operated side mirrors was necessary to make

2019 FORD RANGER MISSES OUT ON IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK AWARD

2019 FORD RANGER MISSES OUT ON IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK AWARD The  2019 Ford Ranger  has finally been evaluated by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and it narrowly missed getting the organization's top rankings. Available in two cab styles but tested only in crew cab configuration, the  2019 Ford Ranger  received a Good score, the highest rating, in all but two categories, and they so happen to be the ones required to get either a Top Safety Pick or a Top Safety Pick+. On the passenger side small overlap test, the  2019 Ranger  received an Acceptable rating, the second highest. However, that also means it misses the Top Safety Pick+ award because the 2019 criteria require a Good score across the board. The truck received a Marginal rating on the headlights test, which is the second lowest rating, making it ineligible for the Top Safety Pick award. In order for a vehicle to get the Top Safety Pick award, it must receive a Good rating on all but headlights and the
